Facile Construction of Silver Decorated on Carbon Nanotube in Natural Rubber and Polyethylene Blend for Antibacterial Activity

The study described the preparation of composite material through dispersion carbon nanotubes (CNTs) decorated with silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) in matrix blending natural rubber (NR) and polyethylene (PE), for use as an antibacterial agent. FESEM results indicated uniform defect-free surface synthesized composites. mechanical properties improved a 65% increase tensile strength, 38% elongation, 40% hardness compared to original NR/PE blend materials. Although addition CNTs-Ag NPs did not considerably affect thermal stability blend, it was found prevent E. coli bacterial growth by 35%. This opens up new possibilities variety applications, particularly field public health wellness.
